London Armoury Company (LAC), founded 1856. Stockholders Robert Adams and James Kerr.
The factory flourished manufacturing the Adams revolver. In 1859 however Robert Adams left the company and James Kerr became the prominent figure of the company.
Production grew by the mass production of the Enfield model 1853 rifle, for which the factory had secured important contracts with the British Government.
In 1859, the company started the production of a new revolver, the Kerr Patent Revolver. Sales were modest however.

During the US Civil War the London Armoury became a major supplier to the South..
About 80,000 rifles and 9,000 revolvers were sold to the CSA. The fate of the London Armoury Company was so linked to that of the Confederacy, that the company ceased to exist within a year following the end of the Civil War.
